Leoné Maree

Registered Counsellor
& Life Coach

Hi there,

I'm so glad you're here. Taking the first step towards seeking support can feel overwhelming, and I appreciate you taking the time to learn a little more about me and how I work.

I am a Registered Counsellor and certified Life Coach, offering services in both Afrikaans and English, in-person in Boksburg and online sessions for your convenience.

I am passionate about helping people gain deeper self-understanding, develop healthy coping skills, and create meaningful, lasting change in their lives. I believe that counselling and coaching work best when they are a collaborative journey. You are the expert on your own life, and together we will explore the areas that matter most to you at a pace that feels comfortable and manageable.

If you have any questions or would like to find out whether I am the right fit for your needs, I would love to hear from you.

I look forward to hearing from you...

Individual Counselling / Life Coaching (Adults)

Individual Counselling or Life Coaching provides a supportive space for adults navigating life transitions, emotional challenges, relationship concerns, identity questions, and personal growth. Together, we will explore the experiences and patterns affecting your well-being while building on your strengths. Our work will focus on developing self-awareness, self-esteem, emotional resilience, and healthy coping skills. Your values, goals, and aspirations will guide the counselling process. If you are unsure of what matters most to you, we can explore this together and identify practical steps you can take towards creating a meaningful and fulfilling life.

Child & Teen Counselling (Ages 5 - 18)

Child & Teen Counselling services are available for kids from the age of 5 years old, depending on your child's verbal skills. Sessions are tailored to your child's age and unique needs, using play-based techniques and a supportive therapeutic relationship to help them feel safe, understood, and comfortable expressing themselves. Through this process, emotional, social, and behavioural challenges can be explored and addressed. I also work closely with parents of young children by providing guidance that will support your child's development and emotional well-being. Together, we can identify parenting approaches that align with your child's individual needs, helping to strengthen the parent-child relationship and create a supportive environment in which your child can thrive.

Family Counselling / Parental Guidance

Family Counselling provides a supportive and respectful space where family members of all ages can come together to work through challenges and strengthen their relationships. The focus is on improving communication, rebuilding trust, fostering greater understanding and empathy for one another, and finding healthy ways to navigate life's changes and difficulties as a family unit. Parental Guidance sessions can be provided to families with young children, so that parents can receive support, practical parenting guidance, and feedback tailored to their child's developmental needs and the family's unique circumstances.

Scholastic & Developmental Assessments (Children ages 5+ years)

Scholastic & Developmental Assessments for children ages 5+ years are aimed to support learners, families and educators with evidence-informed insight into a child’s academic and developmental functioning. I will use psychometric assessments to evaluate key areas of development, such as literacy, numeracy, cognitive skills, attention, and other screening tests to evaluate motor skills, emotional or behavioural factors that may influence learning. Results are discussed in a feedback session and translated into actionable strategies. Referrals can also be made where appropriate.

School Subject / Study Choice Assessments (High School Learners)

School Subject Choice and/or Study Choice Assessments aim to help learners and parents plan effectively for their child's future. This service involves conducting interviews, questionnaire and psychometric assessments when needed, with learners and parents to identify your child's personal aptitudes, values, personality traits and occupational interests that align with a set of subject options and post-school study pathways. The service includes personalised guidance and actionable recommendations to support informed decision-making.

Career Development Coaching (Adults)

Career Development Coaching will be beneficial to adults who are entering the job market for the first time or re-entering, making a career change or adjusting to a new role. We will explore your career goals, areas you are less confident about, and any soft skills that need refinement for career growth and satisfaction. Psychometric assessments may also be introduced where needed.

Kindly contact me via email or by reaching out to me at the bottom of this web page. I will get back to you as soon as possible within working hours. Thereafter we can schedule a virtual or in-person session depending on your preference.
My rates are set according to session length and service type. Rates range from R600 - R700 for counselling sessions. Psychometric assessments range between R2600 - R4000 depending on the type and number of assessments administered. Payment plans can also be arranged. You are welcome to reach out to me directly to enquire about my fees.
Yes, I accept certain medical aids, such as Discovery and GEMS. Please note that in case of medical aids not processing claims in-full, clients must pay the difference personally.
No. I cannot diagnose any mental health disorders or prescribe any medicine to clients. I can conduct a screening test to determine the need for a referral to a Psychologist or Psychiatrist for diagnosis and prescriptions.
